Whatever properties that are mentioned about this mat, it has them. And I am extremely happy with it, especially with Anti-Slip. Even though it doesn’t have cushioning but, I got used to it eventually & for some poses I just put my hand towel underneath. I recommend Juru Yoga to as many people as I can because it’s amazing that such quality was developed in India, by an Indian Woman! 🙂

The mat has all the key qualities required for a good yoga session regardless of being a seasoned yogi or a beginner. Your yoga starts with your mat and Juru has managed to create the mat with just the rite quality of (a)SUPPORT , for knees and joints , the material is not too rough and not too soft but just rite , (b) CONTROL , usually while practising postures you find yourself slipping away but with the juru mat , the grip is perfect and firm (c) MAINTENANCE , the mat is easy to wash and dry and the earthy texture with no odour is what you need . Highly recommended.

The mat is the best mat I’ve found and I’m very happy with it. The ethos of making the mat is cool and it’s a great design. The functionality is really good, my feet stay put and I can spring and twist with real hold. The ordering process was very friendly and the packaging was recyclable and ethically made too.

Ordered this mat to replace my old PVC mat. I am loving this mat. The length and breadth are right as is the thickness. There isn’t much “give” but this works well for me. Others have mentioned the good grip and I concur. If you must fold the mat (as in some Iyengar poses), then keeping a backup foldable mat is a good idea. But for most asanas and other exercises, this is a wonderful mat. The texture is also good to maintain your grip (I use it on a smooth stone tiled floor). There is a smell of fresh cork but it fades over time. Getting the bag is good for neat storage. Overall I highly recommend this mat especially for home practice.

After reading all those rave reviews of the mat, I was really curious and excited to experience it myself. What I liked about the mat:
1)I thought it would be cork layer pasted on rubber sheet but rubber was nicely blended with cork giving it soft texture.
2)Grip was the main selling point of it and there was not an iota of disappointment in this regard. Doing some poses I found the grip to be noticeably superior from my previous eva foam mat. On the floor,
It just sticks like a tape. Even on slippery tiles no issues.
3) Just like Kusha grass mat,Sitting on this mat gave positive vibes. Probably because both cork and natural rubber used are positive pranic substances.
4) Free face mask is very useful. Thanks for it.
5)Price: Considering quality, It is modestly priced. I would have still bought it even if I had to pay some more.
Now Issues faced.
Cushioning: In some poses eg equestrian in Surya Namaskar I felt too much strain/pain in knee.
I am overweight so it’s hurting me even more. Lot of pressure on knee.
I thought of putting another mat below this mat but it’s not a great idea either. I don’t have another spare mat.
If at all you are able to overcome this limitation in future it would be a truly outstanding product.

I would have loved for the mat to be thicker, as it’s really hard on my knees. I am now using another rubber yoga mat for cushioning.

Extremely excited to find a true eco friendly mat from India. It’s funny that most eco friendly yoga mats manufacturers that show up in google search are from america so seeing this mat from India was great. I am really grateful for this mat and happy because my yoga practice is on the upswing after it. It feels like earth. Thank you for making it .

I love how grippy it is! Yes, it’s thin so it doesn’t come with the cushioning you’d expect for your knee. You’d need something under your knee while using the mat, however, it’s comfortable to sit on and breathe in.
It feels earthy. I can trust it to not fall / slip at random. Being a beginner, I’ve been looking for the right mat. I like how plain it is and honestly it does make you feel connected to the floor. Thank you for this!

I bought the Juru Mandala Mat after having practised on a foam mat and a rubber mat for a considerable amount of time. The stark difference is that you’ll never slip or slide no matter how much you sweat on the Juru Mat. The grip you get on this mat is unmatched.
It might feel slightly hard. Extra cushioning can always be added if required instead of compromising on grip with a softer mat. Excellent service from the sellers as well. They were kind and patient enough to answer all my queries.

I have been using this mat since March 10th, 2021 for an avg. of 2 hours a day. I personally feel, the mat is loosing its grip and at times getting very smooth (dry condition) for practice. If water is sprinkled (i.e., in moist condition), am able to improve the grip. I don’t advice this mat if planning for intense practice (say min. 3 hours a day). Kindly, provide some tips for its effective usage.

I absolutely love my cork mat! I have hyperhydrosis (sweaty hands) and this mat is amazing – I never feel slippy at all! Because of the stability it offers, I have been able to access postures (like wheel) that felt inaccessible for me before.
As a bonus, I use the strap that it came with for restorative stretches!
Even with the international shipping and customs, the price was comparable to many other good quality mats, and I really loved being able to support a company in India (especially because the Western yoga industry has been so extractive from India – giving little to nothing back).

This mat is fantastic. I was worried as reviews said it was heavy and hard on the knees, but as u continue to use it it’s becomes soft on the knees. It’s got some really good energy to it. It feels good on the feet. It is heavy but you get used to it. And the more you sweat on it the better the grip. Really happy with it and happy that it’s eco friendly.

Namaste! We have a mat for every yogi. The Mandala mat as mentioned is a textured surface with larger cork chips when compared to our other mats. It is one of our first mats and many yogis still prefer this for daily home practice in a 3mm mat range that provides a firm surface. It gets smoother with use but we have different mats based on what you are looking for. We have also shared an FAQ on choosing your mat so you can choose what suits your practice and comfort best. Reading reviews from other yogis also helps you understand the mat better. You can use sand to scrub the surface or sandpaper to smoothen the surface and wash the mat once before use. Also, wipe the surface with a wet cloth after a sweaty practice. With regular use the Mandala should also feel smoother.
